Hello friends!! The past few mornings in north Texas have been bitterly cold – at least by native Texan standards! So it’s nice to warm up with a good cup of coffee or even some hot cocoa. My coffee bar area is one of my favorites spots in the house. The natural light and the view out to the backyard make it a relaxing and productive little spot. This space gets a makeover for each season, but Christmas definitely stands out as my favorite. Enjoy this look at my current coffee bar decor and I hope you find some inspiration to set up your own coffee or hot cocoa station for this holiday season.
I have always wanted a coffee bar area in my kitchen and this little breakfast nook turned out to be the perfect spot. There is plenty of room for all of the coffee essentials and some fun decor too, because you can’t have coffee without a healthy dose of home decor, right?! It’s become my favorite place to plan out my day, do a little work, or just enjoy the view.
This corner is right by two large windows that look out over the back yard. There is a creek and small waterfall back there that runs all year round (and rises quickly when we have heavy rain!). But early in the morning, when the world is still quiet, you can hear the waterfall from this spot and it is such a peaceful way to begin the day.
I love to change up the decor on my coffee bar as the seasons change, but it still needs to be functional. I placed tea towels in this basket and added in a few of my favorite holiday mugs. My color palette most of the year is neutral, but I love to add in pops of red for the Christmas season. It’s a fun way to brighten up a space and I need all the cheer I can get early in the morning!
My old Keurig machine finally gave out last year, so I replaced it with the smaller Keurig 250. I love the different brew size options and it will even brew a Carafe if it’s one of those multiple cups of coffee kind of days. There is also a hot cocoa option that brews the perfect steaming cup every time. Add in a few (or a lot) of marshmallows and enjoy!!
I’m one of those girls who likes a little coffee with her sugar! A sugar bowl is a must on my coffee bar and I love this sugar cellar in keeping with my farmhouse style. I keep my K-cups in a glass jar so that it’s easy to see when I’m running low. I’m obsessed with Tim Hortons coffee for brewing at home. I even buy it in bulk on Amazon – the obsession is real!!
And of course, my farmhouse style coffee bar wouldn’t be complete without a few Rae Dunn canisters. I use them to store my surplus of coffee K-cups! I added a little twine around the lids to spruce them up for the Christmas season. They add a fun touch to the area and they serve a purpose as well.
I hope this coffee bar tour has inspired you to find a small corner for yourself. You may not have space for an entire table, but even a corner on the kitchen counter will do. Fill it with your favorite coffees, teas or cocoa and have fun adding some decorative touches for the seasons. Enjoy!!
Have a wonderful holiday season sweet friends!
